About
Constance Harper Sprague grew up in Northern Virginia. She attended St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland, and eventually graduated from George Mason University after years of detouring as a singer in The Mystery Band, a party band in the Washington, DC, area.
During ten years as a columnist and editor with The Fauquier Citizen, a small newspaper in Warrenton, Virginia, she earned numerous awards from the Virginia Press Association for her writing. Since leaving the world of journalism she has focused on fiction, where the pursuit of happy endings can be entertained without a cut in pay, it being largely an unpaid pursuit in any case.
A recovering soccer mom and a maniacal gardener, she now lives in Seattle, where the relentless moisture, brooding evergreens and soaring mountains inspire brave new delusions.
